WestJet Announces Vancouver Expansion.




WestJet has just announced that it has again enhanced its schedule and connectivity out of its Vancouver hub to key business and leisure destinations in Canada and Mexico, adding 60 more flights weekly.

Details of WestJet’s increased service from Vancouver:

An increase of 24 weekly flights between Vancouver and Calgary for a total of 16 times daily, with hourly service in both directions (top of the hour from Vancouver, and bottom of the hour from Calgary).

Vancouver-Edmonton from 50 to 59 times weekly (nine times each business day).

Vancouver-Calgary, from 88 to 112 times weekly (16 times daily).

Vancouver-Kelowna from 40 to 49 times weekly (seven times daily).

Vancouver-Ottawa from seven to 14 times weekly (twice daily).

As previously announced, on March 15, WestJet will launch three-time weekly service between Vancouver and Mexico City with the route moving to daily service on April 29.

Hainan Airlines Comes To Vancouver.

Announcement marks first direct service to Shenzhen and Tianjin from Canada

Hainan Airlines announced they will begin service to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX), via Tianjin Binhai International Airport (TSN). The twice-weekly service will commence starting May 25, 2018.

YVR is the first airport in Canada offering service to Shenzhen and Tianjin, the route will provide direct access to new markets for business travellers and offer more options for leisure travellers exploring China.

The addition of Hainan Airlines brings the total of Mainland Chinese carriers to seven plus Air Canada, further strengthening YVR’s position as the connecting hub airport between Asia and the Americas.

Headquartered in Haikou, Hainan Airlines has received the Skytrax 5-Star Airline Rating for seven consecutive years and continually ranks as one of the World’s Best Airlines. The airline’s network includes more than 1,400 international and domestic routes to over 110 destinations.

The new route will provide passengers with more travel options and convenience. It will also further strengthen the economic, educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The route will be operated using an Airbus 330 with a seat configuration of 32 Business class and 260 Economy class seats.

Hainan Airlines will depart from YVR at 11:30 and arrive at TSN at 14:15 (+1), before continuing the journey. The flight arrives at SZX at 19:45.

Yoga takes flight with Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific has partnered with Pure Yoga to launch ‘Travel Well with Yoga’, a new inflight well-being program beginning this month.

In keeping with the airline’s ‘Life Well Travelled’ campaign, the series of videos have been developed by Pure Yoga instructors “to help passengers ease into their journeys with yoga and meditation exercises and tips,” Cathay Pacific said.

Passengers can now view 'Travel Well with Yoga' in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese across all Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon routes.

This includes flights between Vancouver and Hong Kong, Toronto and Hong Kong and Vancouver and New York (JFK), by accessing the Lifestyle section on their inflight entertainment screens.

Split into six easy-to-follow videos featuring founding teacher Patrick Creelman and senior instructor & co-founder Almen Wong, the series demonstrates yoga and meditation routines that can be done before, during or after a flight.

Exercises are designed to improve circulation, enhance joint mobility and relax the mind for a comfortable and restful journey.

Pure Yoga is also offering all Cathay Pacific Marco Polo Club members a complimentary 10-day trial, 50 per cent discount on studio joining fees, and a complimentary upgrade for access to all Pure Yoga studios across Asia.
