Travel advice for the hectic holiday season is available from Air Canada.

To make travel easier during the busy Christmas season, Air Canada is giving its top six travel suggestions.

Dec. 19–23 are anticipated to be the busiest travel days throughout the mid-December to January 6 holiday period.

Air Canada anticipates welcoming more than 2.2 million passengers this holiday season. Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, and Air Canada Express operate up to 1,000 flights worldwide each day. In terms of personnel, equipment, and backup plans, our team is ready. Kevin O'Connor, Senior Vice President, Global Airports and Operations Control at Air Canada, stated, "To guarantee the safe transportation of our customers and their baggage to their final destinations, we are closely monitoring the weather and communicating with other partners in the aviation ecosystem."

These are the top six holiday travel suggestions from Air Canada to make customers' trips more comfortable.

1. Get the Air Canada mobile app for free from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Air Canada's mobile app is well-liked by consumers as an all-in-one solution that offers customized information based on booking details. The following are some of the main reasons why Air Canada passengers utilize the mobile app:

-Check-in and digital boarding pass download.

-Receive boarding pass updates automatically.

-At 12 of Air Canada's most popular destination airports, you can monitor flight times, gate changes, inbound aircraft status, and walking directions to departure gates.

-Get carousel pick-up details and aircraft checked luggage monitoring updates in Canada, the US, and a few other countries.

Check in online at aircanada.com or through the app 24 hours before departure.

At time of check-in, ensure your travel contact information is accurate so Air Canada can relay any flight and travel updates directly to you through email and SMS.

-Check and ensure you’re aware of baggage cut off times for your departure.

-Check the in-app digital boarding pass for recommended airport arrival time, baggage drop cut-off times, the latest gate location, and boarding time.

-In the event of flight changes, you will receive revised flight information including new flight times and rebooking information through notifications sent by email or SMS. Changes will be reflected in the app.

Make sure you have all the necessary, current travel documentation for where you are going.

-The name on the ticket and the ID must match.

-All commercial flights require a valid government-issued ID in order to board.

-There may be further entrance restrictions, like visas, for some nations.

-Examine the services that many airports provide, such as reserved or accelerated pre-boarding security screening times.

Pack wisely. Don't go above your permitted baggage limitations.

Most people pack too much, according to experts, so think carefully about what you need to bring and, if at all possible, check your luggage. Advice for packing bags

-For both checked and carry-on luggage, be aware of your baggage number, size, and weight restrictions and adhere to them.

-Put your name and contact details on the outside baggage tags and inside checked bags. It contains information that will enable the bag return to you if the airline baggage tags fall loose.

-Keys, cash, prescription drugs, laptops, and valuables should always be kept in a carry-on bag that can fit beneath the front seat.

-Remember to review the pre-boarding security screening criteria here, which include things like liquid limitations and leaving gifts unwrapped.

Get to the airport promptly and find your way around the terminals.

The Air Canada app lists the three essential actions to get you on your journey as soon as possible, along with suggested arrival timings and terminal details:

Step 1: Print and attach your tag at a self-serve kiosk.

Step 2: At the drop-off location, inspect your bag.

Step 3: Proceed to the gate and security to unwind before boarding.

Put an AirTag or other Find My network device in your checked luggage when you go.

In the unlikely event that their baggage are delayed, customers can use the new Share Item position function to securely and secretly share with Air Canada customer support the position of their AirTag or Find My network accessory so that they can reconnect them with consumers more promptly.

-Using the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, create a Share Item Location link. Then, safely send it to Air Canada's luggage staff via the Delayed luggage Claim website.

-Location sharing will instantly stop as soon as a client is reunited with their bag, and it can be stopped at any time. It will also automatically expire after seven days for the privacy and protection of customers.

-Customers should confirm that their Apple device is running iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, or macOS 15.2 or later in order to utilize the new Share Item Location feature.

For travelers going abroad, Air Canada is also advertising its Travel Ready Hub: "Check the Air Canada app or visit Air Canada's Travel Ready Hub for the most recent government entry requirements. For any flights they buy, customers are in charge of making sure they fulfill all government entrance requirements, such as having the appropriate travel documents, visas, any necessary health certifications, and all other eligibility requirements.
