Seven Reasons to Go to Phuket

The largest island in Thailand, Phuket is a fantastic getaway for anyone seeking a top-notch tropical vacation, complete with beautiful hotels, sandy beaches, an international airport, mouthwatering cuisine and dining options, breathtaking scenery, a diverse range of cultures, a bustling nightlife, and much more. Phuket has something to offer everyone, regardless of their interests, age, style, or financial situation. So take a seat back, unwind, and savor our seven best Phuket travel suggestions.

Remote Beaches

First, let's talk about the beaches. It's no secret that Phuket boasts some of the nation's best white sand beaches, with Patong, Kata, and Karon being the most well-known. The greatest of the best, however, are actually a well-kept local secret. Little havens like Banana Beach, which is only a few kilometers north of Outrigger Surin Beach Resort; Laem Sing Beach, which is only south of the busier Surin Beach; and the spacious but yet remote Naithon Beach are the places you want to be off the beaten path.

Phuket Cuisine

Food, delicious food! Most people think that this is the nicest thing about Thailand, aside from the beautiful beaches and kind folks. You should visit Old Phuket Town for coffee and cake at one of the many hipster cafes; Rawai Beach for fresh seafood right from the boat; any roadside street stall for kuay tiaow noodles; and any beach for fresh coconut juice, mango, and sticky rice. We can't possibly list them all.

Island hopping

An excellent place to go island hopping is Phuket. There are several choices, ranging from smaller, lesser-known islands like Koh Kai Noi to popular tourist destinations like Koh Phi Phi. Koh Yao Yai, Koh Yao Noi, Koh Lon, Koh Racha, and hundreds more are other islands close to Phuket. These are excellent for short excursions. Many of them are accessible by tour boat or private longtail; it simply depends on your type of traveler—adventurist, thrill-seeker, or VIP—and your needs for comfort and luxury.

Exciting Sailing

Thailand's greatest maritime treasure will always be the Andaman Sea, with Phuket serving as its center. There are some of the most exquisite beaches and islands in the area here, along with pristine waters and breathtaking scenery. In Thailand's booming yacht charter market, Phuket has become the standout destination and a top attraction for regatta sailing fans. There is plenty to discover and enjoy in Phuket's waters if you enjoy going out to sea for fun or perhaps going big game fishing.

Training for Triathlons

It may surprise you to learn that some of the top triathletes in the world train in Phuket. Its exceptional local routes for cycling through breathtaking tropical scenery, Olympic-caliber swimming facilities, specialized fitness centers, athletic tracks, superb local beaches for swimming, and mild weather make it a unique destination. Phuket can accommodate training for a day, a week, a month, or a year. At the renowned Laguna Phuket Triathlon, we hope to meet you!

Beach Surin

The naturally stunning Surin Beach has been dubbed "Millionaire's Row" because of the abundance of upscale eateries, beach clubs, homes, and resorts that line the boardwalk, the neighboring mountains, and the roads. However, the local touch of little beachside vendors offering real Thai food, iced coffee (referred to as "cafe yen" in the area), icy pops, and other delectable Thai treats is mixed in with the flash and glamour. Surin Beach's pristine white sand and blue ocean have made it a favorite tourist and Thai destination. Visitors come for relaxation, mouthwatering local cuisine, and exciting nightlife.

Views of Phang Nga Bay while Cycling in Phang Nga

The most famous example of the sheer limestone karsts that rise steeply out of the emerald-green water in Phang Nga Bay is James Bond Island. Riding a bicycle is an excellent opportunity to take in the breathtaking countryside while avoiding the throngs of tourists. A bike ride with views of Phang Nga Bay is not for the faint of heart; it includes windy descents and high climbs, but the vista is well worth the effort.
