Disney's upcoming ship class will be about 30% smaller than the Wish-class vessels.

Disney Cruise Line is set to expand its fleet with a fourth Wish-class ship and a brand-new ship class, with deliveries scheduled between 2027 and 2031.

The new ship class will consist of three vessels, each accommodating around 3,000 guests and measuring approximately 100,000 gross tons. These ships will be 20% larger than the Magic-class ships (84,000 gross tons) but smaller than the Dream-class (130,000 gross tons) and Wish-class (144,000 gross tons) ships.

The smaller size of this new class will allow Disney to access a wider range of global ports and destinations, including those that favor more compact vessels, explained Thomas Mazloum, president of New Experiences Portfolio and Disney Signature Experiences.

These ships will feature next-generation power and propulsion systems designed for energy efficiency, including shore power connectivity. They will also be capable of operating on various fuels, such as hydrotreated vegetable oil and renewable methanol, with flexibility for future fuel options as they emerge. Disney plans to deliver these ships in 2029, 2030, and 2031.

Additionally, a fourth Wish-class ship is expected to debut in 2027. This 144,000-gross-ton vessel will accommodate 4,000 guests and join its sister ships—the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. Like its predecessors, it will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

All four new vessels will be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, with designs by Walt Disney Imagineering.

Currently, Disney operates six ships and plans to add the Disney Destiny to the lineup later this year, sailing from Port Everglades. The Disney Adventure will also begin operations from Singapore by year’s end. Additionally, Disney has partnered with the Oriental Land Company to launch cruises from Japan starting in 2028, with a fifth Wish-class ship designated for the Japanese market.
