Carnival Cruise Line on Tuesday laid out a plan to resume sailing on three ships in July and canceled sailings on the rest of its fleet through July 30.
The line hopes to resume cruises in July from Florida and Texas, with the Carnival Horizon operating from Miami and the Carnival Vista and Carnival Breeze from Galveston.
Carnival recently participated in a cruise restart rally at the port of Galveston, where hundreds of crew members from the Vista and Breeze were vaccinated by the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
Carnival also said that if it can find a solution to allow cruise ships to visit Alaska, the Carnival Miracle will assume some of the Carnival Freedom's departures from Seattle.
"We continue to have constructive discussions with the CDC but still have many questions that remain unanswered," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. "We are working diligently to resume sailing in the U.S. and meet the CDC guidelines."
