Start of year-round, four-time-weekly service in Spring 2025
Air Canada offers convenient connections throughout North America via its YVR Pacific hub.
Manila is the first stop for Air Canada in the Philippines and its 12th destination in the Asia-Pacific region.
December 5, 2024 With the launch of non-stop flights between its Pacific hub at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in the Philippines*, Air Canada today announced the strategic development of its international network. The statement was given during the 75th anniversary of Canada-Philippines diplomatic ties, which is being commemorated by the Government of Canada's Team Canada Trade Mission in the Philippines. In the past two years, Air Canada has introduced three new routes to South-East Asia, including this one to Manila.
The Philippines is currently the largest market in Asia without direct Air Canada service, and Air Canada is the only Canadian airline slated to serve it. Starting on April 2, 2025, the airline's flagship Dreamliner aircraft will fly the new route four times per week. Taking advantage of Vancouver's location as the closest major North American city to Asia, it will be Air Canada's 12th route in its transpacific network, which includes flights to Japan, South Korea, the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. With this new service, Air Canada will have the most non-stop flights of any carrier in the market, with over 180 weekly flights between Canada and the Pacific starting next summer. Building on recent extensions to Singapore and Bangkok, this is a continuation of Air Canada's expansion into rapidly expanding Southeast Asian destinations, which has more than doubled the airline's summer season ticket capacity over the Pacific since 2022.
Air Canada's contact centers, travel agencies, and aircanada.com will all provide flights to Manila starting today. Bookings for flights from Manila to Canada will soon be offered for sale.
